Now that is what I call Belly Dancing!
Last night Melinda and I did dinner (Sweet Tomatoes in Murray) and dancing (some happening old dance hall frequented by those older and wiser) with my mission president and his wife, Pres. Leonard and Kathryn Romney. They are some of the best people I know and I really look up to the both of them. I made the remark to Melinda that they seem to be on a much higher level of purification/spirituality--one that I hope to achieve sooner than later.
Dinnner was good. Sweet Tomatoes is an amazing Salad Buffet house with soups, fruits, breads, and pastas, too. Golden Corral, but up several notches on the dining experience level. Afterwards we stopped by their place and got the tour of their modest, but beautiful townhome and sprawling backyard garden and woods. Mel was jealous. We finally ended the night at this Murray dance hall. Mel and I have moves, but we couldn't keep up with most of the quick stepping seniors. It was a 50's dance hall flashed forward five decades. We sort of wish our generation did stuff like this more.
As you see in the picture, any close dancing quickly turned into pregnant belly dancing with Melinda.

Okay, first of all, I just have to say, Melinda you look so stinking cute pregnant! Seriously, you're just beautiful! How fun that you guys got to go dancing together! Taber and I actually went dancing for a company party when I was 5 months along. I already had a pretty good belly at the point but I still broke it down on the dance floor ; )I'm glad you guys had such a fun date night! (enjoy because it gets a lot harder to get out once baby is here!)
What a fun date night! A nice detour from dinner and a movie! Melinda, I have never met you so I hope it isn't too weird for me to say-- you are beautiful! When are you due?
I bet Joseph has some groovin michael jackson moves on the dance floor! I'm sure all those seniors were jealous!
Your mission president is a cousin of my dad's! How funny.
Dancing is a lost art (my husband says--"Good riddance!") and I wish there were more opportunities. Did you ever go to swing night at Gruene Hall with us? Some of my most favorite memories are dancing there. Anyhoo, great post. Love the belly dancing, too cute.
When I read the title of your blog I got all excited. But then, well, cute I guess.
Just saying hello from Bakersfield, CA. I'll see you in the fall.
